coursegrade.Iunderstandthateachcourserequirementmustbe

determinethespecificgradeIreceive.Myquestionstodatehavebeen
answered;Irealizethatthepurposeofeachactivityistofindthebest
possiblematchbetweenmyuniquelearningneedsandteachinggoals;
mycontractedactivitiesareameanstobecomingabetterteacher,not
endsinandofthemselves;andhowIapproachthiscontracthas
implicationsforthetypeofteacherIwillbe.
Aim:
Myaimofthiscourseistogainconfidenceinusingavarietyof
pedagogicalmethodstoenhancestudentlearning.Toachievethis

pedagogicalknowledge,withparticularfocusonco-operative
learninganddigitalmediatohelpassistinproducingacreative
andengaginglearningenvironmentformyfuturestudents.

Activities:
Iwillachievetheseoutcomesbyundertakingthefollowingcourse
workoptions:
1. GroupStudy
IwillparticipateinagroupstudywithDebraandCaitlin.Therewillbea
minimumofsixmeetingsaccompaniedwith1-2pagesofmeetingnotes
permeeting.Ideasdiscussedwillbetypedintomeetingminutes/notes
anddevelopedfurtherintoacombinationofdigitalmediaresources.
Eachsessionwillcriticallyanalyseandquestionaminimumofone
readingthatisrelatedtothelecturematerialandaddresseshowthiscan
beappliedtopedagogicalpractice.Aminimumofeightreadingswillbe
discussedduringthesemeetings.Boththemeetingminutesanddigital
medialinkswillbesharedwhentheportfolioissubmitted.(LO1,2,4)
2. SelfStudy
WhilstonpracticumIwillcriticallyanalyseaseriesoflessonsIhave
taught.Thesereflectionswillquestionhowandwhatdidstudentslearn
fromthislesson?,Whichactivitiesengagedthestudentsbestandwas
thereenoughvariety?,DidIapplyarangeofpedagogicalmethods?
Andifso,wheretheyrelevant?andGoingforward,whatadaptations
andmodificationsneedtobedonetoenhancelearning?These
reflectionswillbesupportedbyinformationgainedfromthecourseand

3. Developingaskeletonplan
IwillcreateaYear13NCEAHealthunitofwork.Thiswillfocusonthe
socio-culturalcomponentforlevelthreeNCEAstudentsandwilldirectly
linktothecontentbeinglearntandtheNZcurriculumoutlines.Usinga
skeletonplanthatIwillmake,IwillcreateideasandquestionsIbelieve
needtobeaddressedanddevelopedintoaunitplan.Thisunitwill
provideassessmenttools,bothformativeandsummativethatboth
directlyrelatetoandenhancethelearningwithintheunit.Arangeof
digitalmediawillbeexploredalongwithdifferentpedagogicalmethods
thatincludearangeofco-operativeactivities.Twosuccessivelesson
planswillbecreatedfromthisunitplantodemonstratetheflowonof
