Boards and EPROMs 2.5
Boards that perform game relevant routines are located in-
side the logic box (card cage). The logic box can be locked and
sealed. The release lever for the multimedia board cover is lo-
cated under the DVD-drive.
Mainboard 2.5.1
This board performs all security relevant routines and stores
game statistics. It holds seven EPROMs (U5 - U11) and the se-
curity device (SD). EPROMs U10 and U11 are located on an
add-on board (MEMEX Board).
The base software EPROMs (U5, U6, U10, U11) store the
operating system for security relevant game routines. The
base software is available in diferent jurisdictional ver-
sions (STD, USA, NLD, CZE, etc.).
The game software EPROMs (U7, U8) store gameplay func-
tions and game theme.
The paytable EPROM (U9) stores the paytable.
The security device (SD) is located on an add-on board
(MEMEX Board). It provides for copy protection of games
and determines available progressive jackpot modes and
paytable features (such as CASH FEVER, eMillions, Hot
Link, etc.).
Important: Games of software level C5.x.x require
programming revision F on mainboard PLD-chip
U2 (labeled U2-F), to support the security device.
The MEMEX board holds the security device (SD), EPROM
sockets U10 and U11 and a memory extension. The ME-
MEX board and the mainboard act as a unit. During a RAM
Reset the MEMEX board always has to be installed to the
mainboard to clear the memory located on the MEMEX
board, too.
Important: An exchange of the MEMEX board
will require a RAM reset.

Multimedia Board 2.5.2
The multimedia board performs graphic and sound calcula-
tions. Security relevant routines are not performed on this
board. Graphic and sound fles and the multimedia operating
system are stored on the multimedia software CD in the DVD-
drive.
Important: Games of software level C5.x.x require
BIOS version HBI-STD-1.2.0.20 or higher installed
on socket IC27.
Graphic Board VP-11 2.5.3
The graphic board performs graphic calculations and connects
to the fat screen display(s) via LVDS cable. The LVDS cable also
carries the supply voltage for the display(s).
Important: Games of software level C5.x.x require
graphic board type VP-11.
Commboard 68k V2.10 (optional) 2.5.4
The Atronic commboard 68k provides connection to various
online systems (see appendix) and/or to other Atronic gaming
machines. System addresses, jackpot addresses and SAS chan-
nel allocation is set here. Commboard software EPROMs are
located on sockets U34 and U35. C5.x.x commboard software
uses 8MBit EPROM chips.
The commboard can also act as a progressive jackpot control-
ler. An Atronic Progressive Link (APL) can manage multi-level
progressive jackpots without the need of external controller
hardware.

Software Naming 2.6
Atronic game software always comes as a software set. A C-
level software set of version C5.x.x. consists of 7 game EPROMs,
1 multimedia CD, 1 BIOS EPROM and 1 security device. Game
software is available in diferent Bet/Line versions and pro-
gressive modes (Standalone, CASH FEVER, SAS progressive,
etc.).
Important: Never mix software sets or use any
software combinations that are not approved by
Atronic.
Each part of a software set is labeled according to this scheme.
When the machine is operating, the software versions can be
reviewed by entering the Service Menu or the Audit Menu.
The folder "Machine Information / General Machine Settings"
lists the EPROM versions.
Atronic game EPROMs do always come with an Atronic seal
label that lists part number, socket, chip type, naming, check-
sum and Kobetron value. Removing this label will void the
EPROM. Atronic game EPROMs come as a one-time-program-
mable (OTP-ROM) type.

Software / Basic Setup - C5.2.x
Basic Setup - Overview 2.7
The following sections describe how to carry out the RAM Re-
set and the Initial Setup which are required to confgure basic
machine settings and to carry out jackpot confguration.
General 2.7.1
Atronic machines usually come confgured as specifed during
order processing. However it might be necessary to reconfg-
ure basic machine settings, such as denomination, metering,
paytable, etc. These settings can not be altered during normal
operation, as they require a machine reinitialisation for techni-
cal or jurisdictional reasons. Applying new progressive jackpot
settings also requires a RAM Reset.
To reconfgure basic machine and jackpot settings:
1. Confgure the Commboard
This is necessary only, if you have to alter the commboard
settings, such as progressive mode or channel allocation.
2. Carry out a RAM Reset
This will clear all machine data, statistics and settings, in-
cluding progressive jackpot confguration.
3. Carry out the Initial Setup
After a RAM Reset the machine automatically enters the
Initial Setup menu. The Initial Setup allows to confgure all
basic machine setting.
4. Carry out (Progressive) Jackpot Confguration
A PC or notebook with Atronic's Alink Confg software is
connected to the gaming machine and uploads the pro-
gressive jackpot confguration data.
In an Atronic Progressive Link (APL) the jackpot confg-
uration has to be carried out at the APL master machine
only. The jackpot confguration data is then transferred to

3.4.2 Progressive Split Information
This menu shows the distribution of progressive increments
in a multilevel progressive game, when using APL2 (Atronic
Progressive Link 2).
With APL2 enabled a progressive level can only raise up to the
base value of the next higher progressive level. If a progres-
sive level reaches this limit, the incrementing of this level is
blocked. The increments of the blocked level are then redis-
tributed to the lowest possible progressive level.
Example: The progressive value on level 3 reaches the base value
of level 2. The incrementing of level 3 stops. The increments of
level 3 are now added to an other level. If possible this will be level
4, as this is the lowest possible level.
With 4 progressive levels there are several combinations of
blocked and redistributed increments possible. Each combi-
nation is metered in a separate split statistic Split 0 to Split
15. The percentage values in the green columns indicate the
distribution of increments for this split. Split 0 (all levels incre-
menting) is the default distribution as defned during jackpot
confguration.
When a blocked progressive level was hit, the incrementing is
unblocked and starts again.
Note: The base value of a progressive
level can be reviewed in menu 3.4.5
Jackpot Statistics.
Note: Jackpot level 1 is the highest
level (highest amount). Jackpot level
4 is the lowest level.
