A study on competency mapping of PROMTECH INFOSYSTEMS PVT LTD.
Statement of the problem
An employee has lots of internal capabilities which a human capital. An organisation have to analyse
and galvanize capabilities in order to achieve the desired goals. Competency mapping enhance
individual productivity and performance in the organisation, which in turn contribute for the
organisational productivity. Hence the researcher intends to do the research on competency mapping
at Promtech info systems.
Objectives of the study:
1. To identify the key competencies at Promtech.
2. To suggest how ithelps in striking an appropriate match between job description and job
specification.
3. To identify the areas of deficiencies among employees.
4. To give suggestions to improve the deficient areas of employees.

Scope of study
This project is conducted in Banasawadi area and it cannot be generalized to whole of Bangalore.
Research methodology:
Type of research : Descriptive
Sample selection and size : 100
Tools used for data collection :
a) Primary data: questionnaire, interview
b) Secondary data: websites, journals
Tools used for interpretation and analyses: percentage method
Limitations
Time allocated for study was very less.
The information provided by employees can be biased.
This project is conducted in Banasawadi area and it cannot be generalized to whole of
Bangalore.
