What are Modals: Auxiliary verbs that help
express special meanings such as
advisability, necessity , ability and
permission.
Today we will be studying
Modals of advisability.
MODALS OF ADVISABILITY
Might (if you want to:choice)
Should (right thing to do)
Ought to (good idea )
Had better (warning or consequences will be bad)
There are four modals to help you express
advisability:

positive advice or negative
advice.

How to Give Negative Advice
Sometimes you need to advice a person what NOT to
do in a given situation, this is negative advice.
You give negative advice by adding a negation after
the modal.

You might not want to
cover your cut with a

Negative Advice:
You should not touch your
scrape with dirty fingers.
