We have to go through certain experience in life to learn how to deal with group work. That
is what the author is talking about; he is giving us some advice on how to deal with this situation
where you don't know the person youre working with. The rules that the professor made were:
meet people properly, find things you have in common, try for optimal meeting conditions, let
everyone talk, check egos at the door, praise each other and phrase alternatives as question. The
teacher did that every semester to all his students. He put them in groups of four or five and then he
gave them a paper with all of the rules to work in group. There rules were in the first chapter of a
book that he wanted to write. His friend helped him to finish it because he had cancer. I think that
he was doing good by teaching people how to work in group. The first thing we have to do is sit
down and know the people we are going to work with. I really think that it is a good idea to know
the person, because we don't know the problems they have and how are they going to work. I think
that we first have to deal with what we have to work with other people; it was a really good idea
from the teacher. Not all teachers have these ideas, and it really would help that there were more
people like this.
