students to learn?
Students will:
Be able to recognize the difference between the emotions anger,
selfishness and envy in relation to Greek Mythology and themselves.
Assessment

During classroom discussions we will restate previously determined
definitions of these emotions and have the students apply them to
themselves.

Paper hand-outs
Youtube video
Squishy ball or toy

Introduction
Engage students with energy and enthusiasm 1-2 min
Review definitions and concepts from last class 5-6 min
What did we decide was: anger, selfishness and envy?
Review story from last class with the chart provided 3 min
Body
Watch clips from youtube regarding the myth about Persephone and Hades
(?) flexible, move to next class if not enough time.
Discuss: (stand up game-if they have something to say stand up, toss the
ball to student who stands up first. only student with the ball or toy may
speak) 5-10 min
How we would feel in those situations (ie) How would you feel if your mom
was suddenly missing? Or your dad?
How would you feel if the person that had them would not give them back?
Would you want a friend to come stay with you if you didnt have any?
How would you feel if your friends had something you did not?
Closure
Comment on how these feelings are natural 1-2 min
Ask them if they can find an example of these or any other emotions during
the rest of the day and we will discuss them next class, and correlate them
with the poetry reading we are doing.
