1. To revise and consolidate the main words and structures learnt so far- human feelings
and emotions;
2. To develop reading, speaking, writing, listening skills;
3. To consolidate the use of idioms related to the topic;
4. To encourage students to learn the English language through dialogues, games,
conversation;
5. To give students more practice on pronunciation and vocabulary, contextualized
grammar;
6. to stimulate students’ imagination.
Imagine you are in a clearing in the forest, or somewhere remote, like an island in the middle of
nowhere, having a great time, a whale of a time...Please seize the feeling, don’t let go...
Last time we met we opened a new chapter dealing with human emotions and feelings, called
”He felt relaxed”, teacher writes down the title and asks the question:
Reminder: T provides some relevant examples to set the rules of the game.
Keeping in mind the title ”He felt relaxed”, Ss have to switch to the 1st person, singular and
provide some insight with regard to the way they feel:

Procedure:
Playtime 2nd level, so push the button, initializing....
”People express different feelings in different ways. I am going to name a feeling and you
should show the feelings physically or verbally.”
- You are really happy and joyful. How would you show that? What would you say?
- You are feeling anxious and fearful. How would you show that?
This can’t be true! I feel lonely! Why me? I cannot take it any more!
Activity 4 (10’)

Procedure:
Ss are asked to have a look at different ways of expressing various feelings. Ss have to turn to
page 49 and to identify the emotions as shown in the images.
Then Ss move on to some listening exercises related to the topic of discussion, exercices 3,4 on
page 49.
Activity 5 (15’)
Skills: Speaking, Writing
Aims 1,2,3,4,5 and 6
Class Organization: T- Ss,
Procedure:
Teacher reinforces vocabulary related to the topic by handing Ss worksheets with various
exercises dealing with colour idioms and emotions. The name of the game is WHAT IS YOUR
TRUE COLOUR?
Eg:
Red with anger
Yellow with jealousy
Green with envy
White with fear...
Homework (3’)
Teacher assigns students their next homework and explains what they have to do.
Ss are invited to read a text about 10 proven ways to make someone happy and to think about
their own recipe of happiness, a quick and easy way to handle anxiety, depression, sadness, blue
Mondays at school.
T awards grades, praises active Ss and encourages the others.
