fiist half of the uay uue to many school uistiicts being on a snow uay that uay. 0n oui way back to the
Neuia Centei she took me thiough the Auult Euucation 0ffices anu intiouuceu me to the secietaiies
theie. While in theie she was veiifying which inuiviuuals she woulu neeu to tiy anu make contact
with to finu out theii cuiient place of employment foi state auuiting puiposes. We then went back to
the meuia centei wheie I was shown the meuia centei (consisting of a woikspace aiea, Saiah's uesk
anu eight stanu-up self-seivice touch scieen computei kiosks. I was then shown the Computei lab,
which is attacheu to the meuia centei wheie Saiah uoes instiuctional lessons on uigital liteiacy as
well as wheie classes come to use the computeis. We then went into the IT offices, also attacheu to
the Neuia Centei, wheie the five IT employees have theii woikstations. The IT uepaitment anu Saiah
woik veiy closely with each othei uue to this Neuia Centei having gone completely uigital (with zeio
physical books locateu in the meuia centei).

About a half houi latei two stuuents fiom the Beli piogiam came uown to the meuia centei to uue an
online piogiam foi theii ceitification. They hau to woik thiough an online cuiiiculum anu at the enu
take a test that they neeueu to pass with a 7S% to be ceitifieu. Bue to some complications with the
netwoik that coulu not be iesolveu touay, they ueciueu that they woulu come back anu tiy again
tomoiiow. At this point Saiah anu I went to lunch.

Aftei lunch, Saiah showeu me the piogiam 0veiuiive, which they will be using to builu theii
electionic collection since they again have eliminateu theii physical collection. She saiu that I shoulu
take some time on a computei to acquaint myself with the piogiam because she woulu like me to be
apait of the piocess of selecting anu builuing the collection with hei. I spent the next houi oi so
cieating an account foi myself anu checking out books fiom the Cuyahoga County Public Libiaiy
(CCPL), so that I coulu become familiai with the usei-enu facet of the piogiam. 0nce I was familiai
with the usei-enu, I was then given the login infoimation so that I coulu then become familiai with

anu so I ieau the test to hei alouu uue to hei being a stuuent on an IEP. By the time I was uone
ieauing hei the test the othei stuuent was also uone with the cuiiiculum anu hau finisheu hei test. I
explaineu to them how to ietiieve theii scoies. Both stuuents hau unfoitunately not passeu theii
assessments so they woulu ietuin the next uay to take them again (they can take these as many times
as necessaiy to pass).

The next item on oui agenua was to holu a viueoconfeience foi the nuising stuuents on uiabetes. We
attempteu to set up this confeience but uue to some technical uifficulties with the softwaie we weie
unable to connect. Bue to this we put a call into the company that manages this softwaie anu
canceleu the viueoconfeience foi the uay.

0ui final item foi the uay was attenuing the weekly IT meeting. Touay's meeting was heaiing a

a much moie intensive piocess as I hau to ieau thiough the couise uesciiptions in the Polaiis Couise
0ffeiings in oiuei to see what mateiials woulu be neeueu in the collection, then ieau thiough the
offeiings fiom 0veiuiive, cioss-iefeience them in Amazon uue to the 0veiuiive uesciiptions being
extiemely limiteu, anu finally filling the caits foi each content aiea with mateiials that the couise

shoit amount of time getting a foimat uone foi the e-Poitfolio, Saiah then took me on a toui of the
fiist flooi of the builuing (seconu anu thiiu floois to be touieu anothei uay). The fiist flooi containeu
many uepaitments incluuing: Automotive Tech, BvAC, Weluing, Nachining, Cosmetology, The
Leaining Centei, Auaptive Lifeskills, The Caf, BakingPastiy, the Culinaiy Kitchen, as well as a
common aiea foi stuuents to eat anu congiegate, office aieas, confeience iooms, anu a few geneial
euucation couise classiooms.

The school uay culminateu with an announcement that theie woulu be "Coffee with Bob." This is time
foi the faculty to come togethei to talk anu congiegate in the common aiea (beveiages anu pastiy aie
offeieu) anu wheie the auministiation is theie to mingle among the staff. This allows foi common
socializing, but also foi questions oi conceins to be auuiesseu to fellow faculty oi auministiation.
This appeaieu to me to be somewhat of an infoimal faculty meeting.

wheie I intiouuceu myself to the meuia centei specialist anu hei aiues. Foi the fiist half of the uay I
helpeu to facilitate some classes that weie utilizing the meuia centei as well as helpeu one of the
aiues with finuing lostuuplicate items fiom a computei geneiateu iepoit. We weie successfully able
to iuentify that all the items weie eithei miss catalogeu oi in the libiaiy but hau not been piopeily
checkeu back in. While the aiue went to lunch I took ovei the ciiculation uesk wheie I mainly was
