Standard Six

Within any school district across the United States, educators are faced with
many issues. Those issues can range from budgetary to family involvement. All of these
items directly effect student achievement. With the right leader, one who follows the
standards, will have great school success.
The sixth ELCC standard focus on a leader"s ability to impact the larger political,
social, and economical climate of a school district. The following paper demonstrates
my knowledge of how it is vital that educational leaders use research to impact the
political leaders within a district. This paper shares how different items that can be
controlled by nances impact student learning. These items such as HVAC systems and
acoustics are all proven to impact achievement. But with continual budget cuts these
things are never addressed. My knowledge of these items, backed by research, will help
me further impact the economic and political stakeholders within a district.
Having the ability to locate and nd research, to take to board members and
policy makers is crucial to all instructional leaders. Being a well prepared leader with a
strong argument will greatly impact these members and hopefully help the ones who
really deserve it: the students.
