1. Step one: First step is you go to the start tab on the bottom left of your computer and click the
programme Audacity. If you have not yet downloaded it please go to downloadser.com/audacity
and downlaod the free programme. ...................................................................................................... 2
2. Step two:The second step is to plug your microphone and headset device into your computer
so you can speak into the computer and also so you can playback and listen to your recording. ....... 2
3. Step three:Now you are ready to start recording you suimply have to you click the red button
with the alt tag record and then you just start speaking through your microphone. .......................... 2
4. Step fourWhen you have finished recording you press the stop button which is the sqaure
which is located in the line next to all the buttons that edit the recording. You can playback the
recording using the other buttons button next to the record button .................................................... 3
5. Step five:When you are finished your recording should look something similar to this. .............. 3
6. Step six:To cut out any part of the recording you just have to highlight the section you would
like to cut out and click delte as shown below. ...................................................................................... 3
7. Step seven:When you have finished editing and recording your audio you have to export the
recording as a WAV file and save it in the right folder on your computer. ............................................ 3
8. Step eight:When you have exported this as a WAV file and saved it in the designatred area you
can now insert it into Dreamweaver. ..................................................................................................... 4
9. Step nine:To put it on your website page you need to open the page in Dreamweaver and go to
insert; media; Plugin. ........................................................................................................................ 4
10. Step ten:After this you simply click okay once you have found the recording WAV file. .......... 4
11. Step eleven:When you have done this it should appear on your website and you can then

In this document I am going to show you step by step through screenshots how to create a podcast
for your website through the free, downloadable programme Audacity.

1. Step one: First step is you go to the start tab on the bottom left of your computer and click
the programme Audacity. If you have not yet downloaded it please go to

6. Step six:To cut out any part of the recording you just have to highlight the section you would
like to cut out and click delte as shown below.



7. Step seven:When you have finished editing and recording your audio you have to export the
recording as a WAV file and save it in the right folder on your computer.






As you can see i have delted the
highlighted section by just clicking
the delete button on my keyboard.

8. Step eight:When you have exported this as a WAV file and saved it in the designatred area
you can now insert it into Dreamweaver.
9. Step nine:To put it on your website page you need to open the page in Dreamweaver and go
to insert; media; Plugin.







10. Step ten:After this you simply click okay once you have found the recording WAV file.








11. Step eleven:When you have done this it should appear on your website and you can then
enlarge the Plugin and move it around.

FAQs:
1. How do you plug in your microphone to the Computer?
On your PC tower there will be a jack plug in for your headphones, this will be marked with a
headphone sympol next to it. The same will apply if you have an all-in-one computer, The
pplugin will be located wither on the side or the back of the screen.

2. How do you go back to the start of your recording?
To go back to the start of your recording you simply have to use the buttons on the tool bar.
To go back to the start simply click this button.




3. What file type do I have to export the recording as to put into my dreamweaver website?
The file type must be exported as a WAV to be able to import it into Dreamweaver

4. I exported the file as a WAV and put it on my website but it does not show on the internet
when I press F12, how do I fix this?
When you have inserted the recording into Dreamweaver on the correct pages remember to
save and update all by doing this on the template page and then press F12 and your
recording should work.

5. How do I edit my recording, I want to speed some of it up and use a fade out effect, how do I
do this?
All you have to do is go on to Audacity and highlight the section you want to edit, then go to
the effects tool bar and all the effects are on a drop down box as show below.
