Activity 2: Grammar review for the unit test Finding similarity/differences in meaning of 2 sentences
Transition to #3 Now that weve practiced how to identify and explain the similarity and difference between sentences, lets try to review our knowledge by playing a game! 2.1 Pre-Stage: Ss will work on the exercises in textbook p. 23-24 to review in finding the similarity or difference of meaning between two pairs of sentences. This will be good practice for the unit test.
2.2. During Stage: Ss will solve the problems in pairs. When there are discrepancies, T will let the Ss discuss why the meanings are the same or different. The pair of students who get the answer correct will explain their answer to Ss who got it wrong (negotiation of meaning)
2.3 Post-Stage: T will confirm the Ss understanding about the tasks
Tangible Outcome & T. feedback/peer feedback: Ss will engage in peer correction and feedback Higher level Ss will help Ss who do not understand the answer by explaining their solutions to the problem step-by-

Materials: reading activity worksheet, ppt slides, PPT for Jeopardy review game, handout for the jeopardy review game
Anticipated Problems & Suggested Solutions: Some activities might run a little longer if the students are actively communicating and negotiating to establish understanding amongst themselves.
Contingency Plans (what you will do if you finish early, etc.):
Post-Lesson Reflections: The SS seemed to enjoy the jeopardy game and that they get to review and reaffirm the language materials that theyve learned in Unit 3. Also they discussed with their groups member about the posed questions instead of defaulting to ask the teachers. The reading activity and grammar review took longer than I thought- students were engaged in discussing about the content of the reading (roles in society) and the grammar exercises.
