3e genuinely interested in the person and 5nd out what you can do to help themitMs
that easy, #s youMre listening to their 6eelings a3out #+on8 it will 3ecome clear to you

hope you carry plenty o6 3rochures8 samples and 3usiness cards 6or this person
and a notepad and pen to get their in6ormation! The most important thing you can
do 6or this person is to 3e prepared with all your supplies and 3e ready to ser+e
them with whate+er they need E to 3uy or to sell - 3ecause they wanted to meet
you <2)T2;?#<! Be ready to let them know when youMll 3e a+aila3le to meet with
them again and then 6ollow upsoon, This may 3e your neHt Q3estR customer or
QstarR recruit!
', )omeone who is open to talking to you a3out #+on and may 7ust not ha+e time
now or they may want to ask you Duestions8 or need you to 6ollow up later with
in6ormation8 samples8 etc, This person may need se+eral 6ollow up calls or +isits
until the time is right 6or them or they make a decision, The most important thing
you can do 6or this person is to 6ollow upmultiple times i6 necessary, ay3e get
them on your 3rochure mailing list or route, <ou could send a card or an e-card or a
teHt to let them know you ha+enMt 6orgotten them, *ust put them in your planner to
do these things on a regular schedule and watch your 3usiness 3loom!
&, )omeone who has no interest in #+onat all, They may 7ust say no or ha+e lots o6
other words that indicate their disinterest, These people are easy 3ecause you
know eHactly which group to put them in and there is no 6ollow up in+ol+ed! There
are some people who want to Qo+ercome o37ectionsR and i6 you want to use that
approach itMs not wrong, But 6or me8 personallyI donMt, I want to help and to
ser+e those who want me to, To 3e honest8 I donMt spend a lot o6 time $or any!1
con+incing people who donMt want my ser+ices that they should, I 6eel thatMs not
the 3est use o6 my time knowing there are so many people out there who8 i6 I get
the chance to meet them8 9#NT to talk to me, ThatMs 7ust my opinion and you can
do what works 6or you, #s 6or the people who are in this category that are
downright mean E it helps me to remem3er that they canMt 3e that upset at me
a6ter all I 7ust met them! They may not e+en 3e upset a3out #+on, They could 3e
ha+ing a rotten day or going through particularly hard times and are lashing out, It
could 7ust 3e their personality and thatMs the saddest scenario 3ecause those
people are truly alone and misera3le, I pity them8 3ut donMt get wrapped up in their
negati+ityI 7ust mo+e on,
#s we talked a3out sorting we also talked a3out prospecting E where do you 5nd the
people to talk to in the 5rst placeO There were a lot o6 great suggestions and eHamples o6
what works 6or some ;epresentati+es, Cere are a 6ewB
Throwing old 3rochures in dri+eways, Lather all o6 your out-dated 3rochures8 stick
a prospecting Nyer on it $one that says to Qcall 6or a current 3rochureS works
great18 roll it up with a ru33er 3and or put it in a clear literature 3ag $can 3e
ordered through #+on1 and toss them! This is most 6un when one person is
dri+ing and the other tossingespecially i6 you treat yoursel6 when youMre all done!
Tailgating, *ust ha+e your car packed with 3rochures8 samples8 contact cards and
small gi6ts $like lip 3alms or mini hand creams18 make a Q6ree #+onR or Q#+on hereR
sign8 go to a pu3lic place8 put the sign on your car8 and open the trunk! The Q6ree
#+onR is a 3rochure with 6ree samples, I6 they will allow you to contact them you
could gi+e them the little mini gi6t as a thank you,
)er+ice employees, Ca+e 3rochures with you at any place you run errands and are
gi+ing someone moneyB the grocery store cashier8 the receptionist at the doctorMs
oTce8 the waitress at the restaurant or dri+e-through window8 the 3ank teller8 the
insurance agent8 the daycare worker8 the gas station attendantthe list is
looooong8 isnMt itO # good rule o6 thum3B i6 you ha+e to gi+e someone money8 take
the chance to get it 3ack#+on 3ook! $# note 6or the shy ;epresentati+eB e+ery
one o6 these people is paid to 3e nice to youthey can say no 3ut they canMt 3e

at their location i6 youMre raising money 6or a good cause, 9e ha+e set up 6or lots o6
causes8 including the ;ide o6 Li6e8 Breast !ancer awareness8 police and 5re5ghters
$using #+onMs stuKed animal donations 6or children who are in+ol+ed in trauma81
homeless +eteranMs animal protection, There are so many ways to help! ItMs not
necessary8 3ut it does help get more 3usinesses to say yes when we also 3uy a gi6t
card 6rom their place o6 3usiness to use as a raUe pri.e 6or donations along with an
#+on gi6t 3undle7ust an idea,

you help others8 you meet people who want to do 3usiness with you that you might

with a 6undraiserB an entire school8 or a group within the school that is raising
money 6or speci5c things E 3and uni6orms8 a trip8 etc, V a day care center that
needs new playground eDuipmentV an animal shelter that needs 6ood8 3lankets8
medicineV a church that needs new choir ro3esV an organi.ation raising money 6or
a speci5c diseasethere is a lot o6 need in the world and you can help!
Loing to strip malls on a rainy day, ost neigh3orhoods ha+e strip malls with a3out
0--'- 3usinesses in them, 9hen itMs raining or e+en when itMs un3eara3ly hot like
here in Gegas!8 theyMre most likely slow and the employees ha+e a little eHtra time,
This is a good opportunity to go into each 3usiness to see i6 theyMd like 3rochures
and samples or an #+on 3usiness 6or themsel+es, It takes +ery little time so you
