1.0 INTRODUCTION
KKS system is a classification system for the complete power plant and its
components and provides a common language for the designer, the
manufacturer and the user. This paper provides an overview of KKS
application for turbine and its instrumentation and control system.

2.6 The Numerical Symbols of the Function Key
A A A N N A A N N N
Example M A A 0 0 E C 0 0 1 ( start-up program )
The numerical symbols of the different functions (systems or sub-systems)
are usually standardised in order to recognize the type of system valid for the
power plant concerned. Therefore in most of the cases the number is not
counted continuously starting with 01,02,..
Examples for complete function keys are given in clause 3.10. For a detailed
listing of all function keys used for the turbine - generator sets it is referred to
the piping and instrumentation drawings and to the measuring point list.
00 For superordinated signification (as in the given example, start-up /
shut-down program for turbine) the 00 is used.

3.9 The Numerical Symbols of the Equipment Unit Key
A A A N N A A N N N (A)
Example M A A 1 0 C T 0 0 1 B
The number of the equipment unit consists of three digits. In most of the
cases it is counted continuously starting with 001, 002, ... But to avoid
confusion other ways of counting are also admitted. If required a last alpha
digit (in the example : B) is used to identify pilot valves, drives with
multiple power supply, double thermometers (as in the example) as sub-units
of a complete equipment unit.
