I ha!e a bit of a "#a#er clutter$ #roblem and I thought this might cut it down a bit. I also wanted to check out the new a##s for sketching to see if it would be a good "idea notebook$ and so far so good% &if you are curious Im using the #enultimate a## and griffin stylus to sketch'. I got the new swanky co!er from a##le &thats fold u#' but soon realied that I could not be trusted with ()*+ this co!er.. Im way to clumsy. I needed something #added. Plus I wanted a co!er that I could store my stylus, head#hones and a few other things in. Too small If you follow me on facebook, you know that this is not the first case I made- I measured my iPad the first time, made the co!er then realied that the iPad would ./+ 0I+-- *o now I am the #roud owner of a o!ersied kindle case or a #added 1ewelry #ouch, whiche!er you want to think of it as. *o back to the drawing board and I came u# with this one. Aou are attaching one 108 side of each #iece to the i##er, right sides together &use a i##er foot'. It will look like this when you are done. Press and to#stitch along each seam on the side of the i##er. 6ith i##er closed, trim #iece down to 108 7 128. Place the wrong side of the i##ered #iece on to# of the right side of the #ocket lining #iece. baste. But a #iece of ribbon to C8 fold in half and stitch to u##er left corner. But another #iece of ribbon about 128 long and stitch to the center of right side &make sure you get it in the center'. *titch your i#ad case front #iece to your i##ered #iece &that you 1ust created' with right sides together. *titch around 3 sides lea!ing the side with the ribbon loo# o#en. 3s you stitch around the corners stitch in a cur!ed line. Bli# corners. *et aside. Make a "sandwich$ with your auto liner foam and minke. Aou want the "non fabric$ side of your foam to face out, with the wrong side of the minke facing the "fabric$ side of the foam. &If your foam doesnt ha!e fabric on one side, dont worry'. *titch around 3 sides as you did for the case outside, also cur!ing at corners. +his will ./+ be a fun ste#, but go slow and if ha!e a telfon foot it will hel# you greatly- +rim seam allowances down to 1?98. +urn right side out 0or the outside fla#4 *titch your 3 #ieces together as desired, then trim down to 108 7 128. &your #ieces are deliberately cut too large, so that you can "offset$ the center #anel if you wish'. 3##ly 108 7 128 #iece of <ecor bond fusible interfacing to the wrong side. I sewed 2 ribbons one 28 wide and one 18 wide to the center stri# of the fla#, 1ust too add some interest, if you do this make sure you sew the smaller ribbon in the BD.+DE of the fla# so that it lines u# with the other ribbon you #laced on the co!er. But a 128 #iece of ribbon and stitch to the center of the fla#. Place fla# outside and fla# lining right sides together, sew around 3 sides &lea!e the side with /)+ the e7tra ribbon o#en'. Bur!e corners as you sew. +urn right side out and PED**. *li# fla# into case with the EIF@+ side of the front of the fla# matching the EIF@+ side of the back of the co!er. Matching raw edges. +he raw edge of the case back &the #art with the i##er' will be flush with the raw edge of the fla# G =aste in #lace. *li# your #added lining #iece into your co!er, right sides together, your #added #iece will be right side out and your co!er will be wrong side out. *titch raw edge of case, starting about 2 $ from center front, around to the back, then back around to the front, lea!ing a 98 o#ening to turn case right side out. +urn right side out. Press well. Machine stitch o#ening closed. &(ust turn it under and #ress it down and #in well and to# stitch to close the seam.'
