od end caps can be bought with 32mm pins to fit
in the shelf-pin holes on the vertical panels. These
are easily adjustable. There are also manufacturer rods
that you must screw into the vertical panels.

If your custom design doesn't match manufacturer rod
sizes, measure the interior space in between the two vertical
end caps, then mark this cutline on your rod.

I How to Cut Rods to Size
Closet rods come in a variety of styles-including
wood, steel, and plastic-and sizes. If needed, you can
cut rods to size. Be sure to buy rod end caps to fit the
diameter of the rod you choose.
A. MEASURE BETWEEN VERTICALS
1. Clamp the end caps to the verticals according to
the manufacturer instructions.
2. Measure between the two end caps to determine
the length needed for the rod. Remember to
allow for the manufacturer end cap as well
(typically 1/4").
3. Mark the cutline on your rod.
B. CUT ROD TO SIZE
1. Fasten the rod into a jig or onto a workbench
for safety.
2. Use a hacksaw to cut custom metal rod sizes.
cut the rod to size for your application. Use a hacksaw for
metal rods and circular saw for wood rods.
