1.8 CONSONANTS
HOW TO TEACH THE R AND L SOUNDS

Before the class today, it didnt occur to me that teaching the difference between these sounds
could be an issue in pronunciation, but it turns out in some languages these sounds are
indistinguishable and some students find it very difficult to learn the difference between them in
English.
Ways to teach it:

Tongue position begins at top of mouth, behind teeth, and pushed down and forwards

Tongue position: held at top and front of mouth, not touching teeth, no movement. The air
vibrates in the upper throat+
