History of the bicycle In 1817 Baron von Drais invented a walking machine that would help him get around the royal gardens faster: two same-size in-line wheels, the front one steerable, mounted in a frame which you straddled.
How was the bike originally made? The bicycles from the early 1800s were mostly made from wood, and metal. In the late 1800s to the early 1900s they added pedals, and extra wheels. Then in the mid to late 1900s they took away the extra wheels , added gears ,chains and the bike was mostly made of metal. What improvements had to be made to the product? The improvements that need to be made was the bicycles height, and the pedals/axel on the bicycle. Why were these improvements made? these improvements were made because people were falling off of the bicycle, which was high in the air; therefore, causing innocent people to suffer from head collision. what will be the future have for bicycles? No one can predict the future. But we do have new bikes that have have been revealed from the company. For example a bike called the GI- bike. Who uses the bicycle today? Everyone uses the bicycle today, unless they have a vehicle. Bicycles are not just being rode in America , they're riding all over like in South America, Africa, Russia, Italy, and etc. What is the global impact on society of the invention and subsequent innovations? Bikes do have negative environmental impacts, particularly those associated with their production and disposal. Making frames and other components burns energy, typically non- renewable fossil fuels, and produces both greenhouse gas emissions and toxins. While some bike components can be recycled, others end up in landfills.
