Foundation
The bible speak of character requirements for leaders which apply in the worship
ministry context.

Everyone involved in the worship team is a worship leader. Their role is to lead the
gathered community through music to encounter God.

It is important role. It is primarily a spiritual role. God is worshiped in spirit (John
4:24), the musical role is secondary to the spiritual role.

Therefore issues of character really matter.
1. Clean Hands
Keeping the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20)

Psalm 24:3 Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? He who has clean hands
and a pure heart.


1. Why Do I Sing?
2. Who Am I Drawing Attention To?
3. Whats My Main Focus
4. What Am I Trying To Accomplish?



2. Pure Heart
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God (Matthew 5:8)

1. You Can Not Lead If Youre Heart Isnt Pure
2. Do I Love The Person Im Singing With?
3. Are My Motives Pure?
4. Do I Honestly Like Coming To Rehearsal/Church?



3. Humility
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, God
opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. (1 Peter 5:5)

1. Not Thinking Less Of Yourself BUT Thinking Of Yourself Less
2. Am I Putting My Heart Above My Head?
3. Who Gets The Glory?
4. God Did Use You, But Without Him It Was Impossible
4. Teachable
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth
and teach me. (Psalm 25:4)

1. Do I Come With A Spirit Of Anticipation?
2. Can I Take A Back Seat Even When I Know The Solution?
3. Do I Digest What Is Said Or Simply Hear It In The Moment?
4. Can I Teach Others?
