Students will be dismissed from school upon
arrival. If you wish, please meet your son/daughter
at ISP. Arrival time may change due to traffic. We
will contact you should the bus arrive more than 30
minutes late.

The students will be very busy and we ask that you not call the hotel or
the chaperons directly. The chaperons will regularly be calling Mrs.
Malinova to check in.

What to Bring:
Clothes for 4 days, plan for sunshine and rain, hot and cold weather,
clothes that are comfy, you are able to work in and that you dont mind
getting dirty (2 types of outfits: for farm work and for
town/restaurant/castle)
Raincoat
2 hats: for sun and in case of cold weather
2 or more pairs of outdoor shoes, suitable for hiking, farm work, mud (eg.
rubber boots are recommended); also for tourist walking in towns (and a
pair of indoor-only shoes or slippers for our pension rooms, since in
Czech culture we dont wear outside shoes inside)
Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/brush, deodorant, etc)
bath towel
required medication (tablets, drops, etc.) in a separate bag with
instructions and dosages clearly marked (could include allergy
medication)
small bottle of hand sanitizer (optional)
sunscreen
bug spray (insect repellent)
pocket money for snacks in town, extra food at restaurants, souvenirs

This is a nature-oriented trip, and electronic devices are discouraged.
There will be very limited wifi, and even in restaurants were there to
connect with each other and our surroundings. Cameras are encouraged
(we hope for lots of photos), but look after yours carefully while on the
farm.




Monday, 1 September

Depart ISP by bus (pizza dinner en route)
18:30 Arrive at farm; meet farmers Bethany and Vasek, orientation
to farm, programme outline & basic safety review; baking
apples on a fire; preparing chickens and ducks
21:00 Bus to accommodation at Onen Svet Pension; shower and
lights out

Tuesday, 2 September (morning programme same on Wed & Thurs)
07:15 Breakfast at pension
08:00 Bus to farm
08:30-
12:00
Work on farm in small groups: milk goats, collect eggs,
prepare homemade bread, apple picking, preserves, field
work, preparing garden beds, cook lunch, etc.

13:30
Eat farm-fresh lunch; discussion of issues related to food,
agricultural practices, ecological sustainability, ethics, rural &
urban life; clean up
13:00 Bus back to pension, shower, change
AFTERNOON PROGRAMME
Tour of goat farm & cheese production; cheese sampling
Walking tour of historic town of Tabor
Dinner at restaurant in Tabor, serving dishes made from 19th
century Czech recipes (based on actual book of traditional
recipes)
Bus back to pension and lights out

Wednesday, 3 September

Same morning programme, but rotating group work (field,
animals, orchard, lunch prep, ecology discussions, etc.)

AFTERNOON PROGRAMME
Visit to beekeeper to learn about pollination and honey
production; sampling types of honey
Dinner at restaurant in Pribram
Bus back to pension and lights out

Thursday, 4 September

Same morning programme, but rotating group work (field,
animals, orchard, lunch prep, ecology discussions, etc.)
AFTERNOON PROGRAMME

Tour of famous Orlik Castle
Private boat ride on Vltava River resevoir
Walk-through of Zvikov Castle, finishing at Brewery
Restaurant for traditional Czech dinner and short tour of
micro-brewery
Bus back to pension and lights out

Friday, 5 September

Later breakfast at pension, pack and load bus

Transport to farm

Group debriefing activity & discussion led by farmers

Lunch on farm (receive farm produce to take home or eat
en route)

Departure from farm

Tour of Kozel Brewery (on way back to Prague)
