Grade 2 HN

Mrs Hannah Nanovu, Grade 2 Teacher

It is my second year at GWA and I am thrilled to be part of
the GWA team again. I am so excited to be teaching your
children and look forward to our learning journey together this year.
Before GWA I was at an authorized PYP International school in Ras Al Khaimah for
4 years teaching Grade 1. I was the Science Coordinator and Grade 1 leader.
Before that I was in Fiji (South Pacific) for 6 years, again in an authorized PYP
International school. I was a classroom teacher in Grade 1 and 5. I also taught
science from Pre K to Grade 6 and was the Science Coordinator.
Both international schools have given me a wealth of experience. Working with
international children is such a great privilege due to the diversity and the
heritage of the students. There is so much to learn from them and there is never a
dull day.
I am very much a Third Generation Kid (TCK). I was born in England. We moved to
Cyprus when I was child and then to Malawi. After attending University in England
to obtain my Bachelors and Masters, I went on to travel the world. I decided to
move to Fiji and ended up living there for 6 years. There, I met my husband who is
Fijian and we have 2 children who will be at GWA as well. We were ready for an
overseas adventure and ended up in the UAE.
I love to be creative and bring learning to life, making it relevant to the world
around them whilst getting them to consider the future. I draw on my own
experiences and those of the children. I hope very much that you will enjoy the
learning journey, too, and are able to participate with us throughout the year.
I would like an open door policy so that you, your child and I can work together as a
team. Please pop in and see me or contact me with any queries or questions
h.nanovu_gwa@gemsedu.com . I look forward to the year ahead, so lets start the
journey.
