Aaron Weiss speaking to the Dutchess County against the Safe Act)

Introduction
I. I believe that the 2
nd
Amendment is the most important right we have as citizens of the
United States. Why? Because without the right to keep and bear arms, you wouldnt be able to
protect any of your other rights if anyone tried to take them from you.
II. You, as a citizen of these United States, should care about the SAFE Act because it tries
to limit the 2
nd
Amendment that was granted to us by our founding fathers in the Bill of Rights.
III. I, for one, am passionate about the 2
nd
Amendment, because without it we would have
none of our other rights, and that is why I chose this speech.
IV. In this speech, I will talk about what was happening at the time the speech by Aaron
Weiss took place, what different rhetorical strategies he used, and the legacy that his speech has
left.
Body
I. Aaron Weiss was against the safe
A. SAFE Act
B. Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting
II. Aaron Weiss effectively used pathos and ethos in his speech.
A. Pathos (emotional appeal)
B. Ethos (credibility)
III. On most of the gun forums that are available online, Aaron Weiss is known to have given
one of the best 2
nd
Amendment speeches ever.
Conclusion
I. Aaron Weiss gave a short, but straight to the point speech on the 2
nd
Amendment that
focused on the SAFE Act, and why people were trying to use the acts of certain people to try and
punish the rest of the general public by restricting gun rights. He explained why he cared about
his rights, and why he couldnt stand for them to be taken from him.
II. Memorable Closing
