1. What was the major argument raised by Senator Francisco
“Soc” Rodrigo against the passage of the Rizal Bill?
Answer: Under normal circumstances, when new laws are
proposed, it prompts a debate between the upper house and the
lower house of the Senate and the House of Representatives
before it could be officially approved as a law. But, in the case of
the Rizal Bill, things became anomalous, it was due to the fact that
the church was getting involved with the debate on the proposal
of such bill.
2. What was the major argument raised by senators Jose P.
Laurel and Claro M. Recto in support of the passage of the
Rizal Bill?
Answer: Laurel and Claro M. Recto in support of the Rizal bill was
based on their patriotism which acted as a basis for the support of
the bill. In support for the bill they argued that it was essential to
save the country from the hands of other people and to ensure
that they can hold up individually.
3. Are there points of convergence between the supporters and
opposers of the Rizal Bill based on these statements?
Answer: There were points of convergence between the
supporters and opposes of the Rizal Bill based on this statements
since the thoughts are basically connected in a way that it teaches
Filipino citizens to preserve what we have, specifically our religion
or morality.
