A Peek at the Week Classroom News
Reading/Phonics: We will continue with Unit 5:
Weather this week. Our skills are the sounds and
 December 8: PTO Winter Program
spellings for long e (_y, _ie_,) long vowels @6pm
followed by –r, long a (ai_, _ay ), long I (igh, _y,  Maya will celebrate her 7th birthday on
_ie), and long o spelled -oe. December 10th.
Language Arts/Writing: We will be studying  December 17th- Winter Celebration
expository writing (writing that informs the  December 18th- Winter Break Begins
reader). We will be learning about verbs, cause
and effect, and identifying antonyms (opposites).
Math: We will be studying tens and ones.
Box tops for Education!
Social Studies: This week, we will continue
learning more about children around the world and
the holidays they celebrate.
