The Truman Show

During the early scenes of the film The Truman Show the directors aims to put
the viewer in Trumans perspective, the camera angle cuts to the view of the
sunken boat. The camera cuts to a full body picture of Truman when he is
shocked and devastated because he was not prepared to see what was placed be-
forth him, Truman quickly dropped to the floor to become stable, and he grabbed
the nearest polle for stability. The music queues once again dark/deep music
plays, the camera angle cuts to a medium shot. The Barge driver shouts at
Truman are you ok Truman? Which he replied Yea, all good here the camera
angle cuts to a close up of Trumans face, his mouth is wide open he starts to
crawl towards the land. Truman sets foot on land; his face is full of joy, his skin
color reverting back to normal. The camera cuts to a full body frame. He starts to
walk away from the boat wreck. This scene represents how Truman is trapped in
a television show. It is a very significant part of the movie due to Trumans
response, Truman show horror, fear, Death and many other obscure emotions.


Later in the film The Truman Show Truman is walking to work the camera is
zoomed out to a extreme angle, he finds his father homeless wondering the
streets of Sea-haven within the set of The Truman Show at first Truman walks
by his father like he wasnt even there. Truman looks back at his father whom he
mistaken for a homeless man, Truman very quickly turns around he rushes to
the man. The camera angle is now on Truman and his father as a close up.
Trumans face is filled with mystery, joy and confusion; he slowly touches his
fathers face and whispers, Dadis that really you? Truman and his fathers
bond is quickly broken by a strangle lady who was walking her dog, two other
men grab Trumans father and takes him into the bus, The camera is then moved
and pointed towards Trumans face. Truman is in shock he couldnt believe what
just happened he saw his father. This scene is also very significant due to
Truman knowing his father in alive, this scene also has a enormous point to it
because Truman finally relies that he is being held captive in a way.


Finally in the film The Truman Show Truman is found on a boat beating his
Fear by being in a boat sailing and staring death in the eye, Truman is face to face
with humongus swarms, poring rain and gigantic waves that capped size his
boat, Truman fights through all of this including his fear and keeps on sailing.
Truman manages to come to the end. He comes to a student stop with a BANG!
Truman is amazed with what he discovered the end of the line, Truman starts
walking towards the stairway that has an exit sign above it. That scene is
extremely significant in the Truman show due to it representing Truman going to
heavon or becoming a freeman.
