The North Dakota Grain Growers Association is a staunch defender of the rights of farmers in North
Dakotaa defender of their rights to farm the land they own and to steward that land so it will
continue to be productive for future generations.
The NDGGA represents its constituents as a voice to provide leadership and education, both
internally and externally, and to promote the economic benefits of its wheat and barley throughout
the state.
To that point, the NDGGA strongly disapproves of the United States Government, through the
National Resources Conservation Service, using Ducks Unlimited personnel as foot soldiers for its
work due to their bias toward their own agenda, oftentimes at the hands of the North Dakota
farmers that helped build this great state into the economic powerhouse it is today.
The NDGGA feels that the people of North Dakota deserve unbiased people working for the federal
government, workers that will represent everyones interest and not just the political ones of the
people that deposit their paycheck, especially at the expense of the local agricultural community.
While the NDGGA opposes the hiring of Ducks Unlimited employees by the federal government at
any time, its even more relevant in the fall of 2014 with Measure 5 on the November ballot and the
potential of $300 million being made available to out-of-state conservation groups for use against
the best interests of the agricultural community of North Dakota.
Farmers just want to be represented at the table, said Portland, North Dakota, farmer, Brad
Thykeson. The current set-up is stacked against the North Dakota farmer, oftentimes leaving out-
of-state interests with more input into how farm lands are used than the people that own the land.
