Halitosis, gum bleeding, smoking
habit,teeth mobility.
Differential diagnosis
ANUG
Primary Herpetic stomatitis, descarted
because there are no blisters.
Acute leukemia (during chemotherapy
leukemic infiltration in the periodontium
causes infection) descarted because there is
no medical history that supports it.


Complementary test
The diagnosis is mainly done by the clinical
features.
Gram stained gingivas smear.
Perioral palpation for lymphadenopathy.

Etiology
Bacterial destructive infection associated with
heavy smoking habit and bad hygiene.
Bacteria mainly involved are fusiform bacillae,
spirochetes, anaerobic rods (mainly prevotella
intermedia).
Treatment
Improve oral hygiene(clorhexidine
mouthwashes and gentle dental brushing)
Stop smoking habit
ANTIBIOTICS (3 metronidazol 250mg + 3
amoxiciline 500mg)
Debridment of necrtic areas
