Q1. A steel bar of cross section 500 mm 2 is acted upon by the forces shown. Determine the total elongation of the bar. For steel, consider E = 200 GPa.
Q2. Find the extension of the bar shown in Fig. 8.52 under an axial load of 25 kN
Q3. The bar as shown is tested in universal testing machine. It is observed that at a load of 40 kN the total extension of the bar is 0.280 mm. Determine the Youngs modulus of the material.
Q4. Calculate the total elongation of the bar, taking the elastic modulus, E, as 200 kN/mm.
Q5. Taking the Youngs Modulus, E as 120 kN/mm, find the total elongation of the bar shown in Figure
