Raw Mark UMS Mark Grade Candidate

Convert Raw Marks to UMS Marks
This spreadsheet allows you to convert a whole set of raw marks into UMS marks
for any AS unit. You simply need to enter the maximum raw and UMS mark and
the raw mark grade boundaries. Please follow the instructions below.
Instructions
Only enter data into the yellow and green cells; white cells will update automatically.
1. Click here to get the data needed for this spreadsheet.
2. You need to enter the following data into the yellow cells:
- Enter the maximum raw mark for the unit into cell I9.
- Enter the maximum UMS mark for the unit into cell J9.
- Enter the raw mark grade boundaries into cells I11-I15.
3. You need to enter the following data into the green cells:
- Enter candidate names, numbers or other identifiers in column B.
- Enter candidate raw marks in column D.

In order to copy and paste the UMS
marks, copy as normal, then choose
Paste Special instead of Paste then
select Values not Formulas.

Please note, the cap is an additional
conversion point used to keep the
conversion rate just above the grade A
boundary the same as the conversion
rate just below. When using the cap, a
candidate with a raw mark below the
maximum may sometimes obtain the
maximum uniform mark. Notional N is
another conversion point used to keep
the conversion rate just above the
grade E boundary the same as the
conversion rate just below.
