Game 1

Super-Human Strength

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full
armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. 12 For
our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of
evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when
the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have
done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around
your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet
fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all
this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows
of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is
the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With
this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lords people.

Most of us have heard the story of Samson and Delilah and often only remember
that Samson was weak in his dealings with women. But actually the story of
Samson is about the strength that God gave to one man.
Samson was born a Nazarite, which means his parents made a vow that he would be
set apart to God for all of his life. Part of being set apart meant that he would never
drink wine and that he would never shave his head or cut his hair.
Sadly, instead of using his strength for Gods glory, Samson became disobedient and
turned from the Lord and his parents. He fell in love with a woman of the
Philistines (Delilah) who were the enemies of Gods people allowed her to seduce
him into telling the secret of his strengththat his strength would be gone if his hair
were to be cut. Once his secret was revealed, the Philistines cut his hair while he was
sleeping and instantly, his PHYSICAL strength was gone. The Philistines gouged out
Samsons eyes and imprisoned him. As time went by, Samson began to notice that
his hair was growing back. While the Philistines where having a festival to their God,
they brought Samson out in shackles to parade him around for the jeering crowds.
Samson prayed that the Lord would give Him one last bit of physical strength to
defeat the Philistines. He pushed the pillars of the temple causing them, and the
temple, to crumble, which killed him as well as many Philistines. The Bible says
Samson defeated more enemies in his death than in his entire life.
Samson is a story of physical strength, but there are other types of strength, as well.
Daniel was thrown into the lions den for refusing to pray anyone other than God
(strength of faith and conviction)
