THANK YOU DELTA CENTER FAMILIES

Last year Delta Center families raised nearly $9,000

for our school through our Fun Run Fundraiser! As a
result of your amazing support, our PTO
was able to purchase brand new APPLE
TVs for each of our classrooms! Our new
Apple TVs have been ordered and should
be arriving to our school soon!
DC FUN RUN FUNDRAISER OCTOBER 8th
The fall fun run will be on October 8th and the kids will
be running throughout the day. Parents are more than
welcome to watch their children at the fun run. We are
currently at almost 1/2 of our goal. Please register your
kids at www.thegetmovincrew.com or pledges can be
brought to the school as well. Checks
can be made out to Delta Center
PTO. Thank you for your support!
WALK TO SCHOOL DAY OCTOBER 8th
On Wednesday October 8th, 2014 our school is having
our seventh Walk to School Day. On this day all
students that live within a safe walking or biking
distance from school are encouraged to do so.
Students, please talk with your parents to see if you
can participate in this fun event.
Our school has received a grant worth
$163,000 to improve our community
around the school. This summer such
improvements included sidewalk from
Saginaw Road to St. Joseph on the
west side of Canal Road. Missing
sidewalk was also added in the Williamsburg subdivision
and our school will hopefully receive two additional
bicycle racks. The goal of the Safe Routes to School
program is to get more students to walk or bicycle to
school, promoting a healthier life style for our students.

WHEN TO KEEP A CHILD HOME FROM
SCHOOL
The Michigan Department of Community Health has put
together a list of general recommendations for when to
keep your child home from school.
1. Fever: A child has a temperature of 100 F taken by
mouth or 99 F taken under the arm. The child should
not return until 24 hours of no fever, without the use
of fever-reducing medications.
2. Diarrhea: A child has two loose or watery stools,
even if there are no other signs of illness. The child
should have no loose stools for 24 hours prior to
returning to school. Exception: A healthcare provider
has determined it is not infectious. Diarrhea may be
caused by antibiotics or new foods a child has eaten.
Discuss with a parent/guardian to find out if this is the
likely cause.
3. Vomiting: A child that is vomiting. The child should
have no vomiting episodes for 24 hours prior to
returning to school. Exception: A healthcare provider
has determined it is not infectious.
4. Rash: The child develops a rash and has a fever or a
change in behavior. Exclude until the rash subsides or
until a healthcare provider has determined it is not
infectious.
