+arget Audience
T+e melodrama *ill be aimed at youn( adults and older teens, t *ould appeal to t+em t+e
most because t+e ma8ority o- t+e c+aracters in t+e soap *ill be o- similar a(e, t+ere-ore t+ey *ill
-ind it more interestin( as t+ey may be able to relate to some o- t+e topics t+at are co/ered, T+e
soap *ill appeal to bot+ male and -emale, but *ill be mostly -emale as t+ey are more li)ely to
*atc+ t+e soap, because o- t+e drama and at t+is a(e t+at *e are tar(etin( our melodrama at,
males are less li)ely to *atc+ soaps, 'e *ill tar(et our melodrama at (roups D and E o- t+e
socio0economic (roups, as t+ese types o- people are more li)ely to *atc+ t+is type o- soap,
t+ere-ore *e *ill +a/e to create a similar types o- c+aracters so t+at t+e audience can relate to
t+em, 'e *ill aim at middle class and *or)in( class people, because t+ey are usually t+e type
o- people *+o are interested in melodramas, Our soap is a/ailable -or all types o- et+nicity, as
*e *ould li)e to represent all et+nicities -airly,
Reasons as to /h$ the idea /ill /or' 0"roadcast time, demand for
st$le of sho/, mass.niche appeal1
'e *ill broadcast t+e melodrama at ?#@@pm on $ondays, 'ednesdays and %ridays6 t+is *ill
appeal to t+e tar(et audience, because t+ey *on2t +a/e to *ait too lon( -or t+e ne1t episode,
Eac+ episode *ill last := minutes, as *e +a/e to -actor in commercial brea)s, T+e reason t+is
idea *ill *or) is because teena(ers and youn( adults aren2t represented /ery *ell in ot+er
soaps so t+ere is a nic+e (ap in t+e mar)et -or a soap, As t+e soap is only on > times a *ee)
t+e audience is more li)ely to tune in, as t+e soap is on enou(+ but not too muc+6 t+is also
allo*s us time to create "uality episodes, t2s not necessary -or us to create an omnibus
episode, because our episodes *ill be on <OD t+ere-ore t+ere is no need to repeat t+em on
telly because t+e audience can access t+em on t+e internet,
+he estimated cost and justification of amount:
T+e estimated cost -or producin( t+e melodrama is about A:@@,@@@ per episode, *e +a/e
compared t+is to Doctors *+ic+ is a daytime soap, t+ere-ore ours *ill be more costly as it
needs to be bi((er bud(et and +i(+er "uality as it is on later at ni(+t *+en t+ere is more
competition,
&hen it /ill "e read$:
T+e melodrama *ill be ready by December, +ope-ully to launc+ our -irst episode around
C+ristmas *+en t+e ratin(s *ill be +i(+ and people *ill be *atc+in( t+e soap *it+ t+eir -amily,
