A. Preparation of Reagents

Chlorine Standard Solution:
Weigh 1.648g NaCl and dilute to 1L.







B. Analysis of Unknown








Silver standard solution:
Dissolve 30g AgNO3 with
950mL distilled water. Take
100mL of this solution and
dilute to 1L. Store in light
proof container.
3. Indicator: Weigh 5g
K2CrO4 and add 100mL distilled
water. Add drops of your silver
standard until small amount of red
precipitate appears. Stand for 2
hours and filter.
Take 50mL of your
unknown sample and
put in evaporating dish.
Check pH. Adjust by adding H2SO4
or CaCO3 to pH 7-10.







Add 1mL of indicator.
Titrate with standard silver
solution until pink-red silver
chromate persists for 10-15
seconds.
Make three trials.
