Spice Chungu, located in Kakamega, Kenya, invites social change makers to apply for the ,
month Citi-en .ournalism pilot program starting Marc$ %&'()
Spice Chungu welcomes women applicants who have overcome signi/cant life challenges,
including: disability, poverty, discrimination, and e0ploitation' "hey could also be witnesses
to social situations they wish to change so others do not su&er' +pplicants should have a
passion to make the world a better place and the strength to be forces of good rather than
be victims of circumstance'

$articipants need to have intermediary Swahili12nglish skills, be familiar with computers, be
at least 13 years old, be energetic self4starters and have a vision for an initiative that will
cataly-e social change' "he scholarship will provide for tuition through scholarships from
Spice Chungu donors' "here is a capacity for up to 10 participants and Spice Chungu is
currently selecting applicants through a stringent selection process'

ournalism training' "hrough this intensive training, Spice Chungu e)uips participants with all
the techni)ues, methods and ideas they need to cataly-e change in the region' Spice
Chungu has a non4competitive, non4hierarchical environment where the sole focus is on
nurturing participants to become social change makers of tomorrow' Spice Chungu has a
