Thank you Mr. Roller.

I would just like to sincerely thank all of you for taking time out of your
busy schedules today to be with me to celebrate this achievement. You
all have made an impact on my life in some way or another. I would not
be up here today or be the person I am today if it wasnt for each and
every person in this room.
My goal of becoming an Eagle Scout didnt really become clear until I
was a weblo 2 in pack 547. Ever since the first grade, sitting on the gym
floor at Mary Mother of the Redeemer School as a young boy, I have
been hooked on scouting. That means I have been in the Scouting
program for 12 years of my life and counting. And I have been lucky
enough to share it with the two remaining boys in my patrol, Eagle
Scout Brady Gallagher and Life Scout Stephen Thornton. We didnt
always have only three boys in the Badger Patrol, rather there were
seven of us.
We started out in our sister Troop 303, before Troop 547 was
established at MMR, where we learned all the basic scout skills up to
and including the rank of First Class. This included but not limited to
knot tying, tent pitching and basic first aid. We are so thankful to them
for their help in getting Troop 547 on its feet. However, during the
transfer over to Troop 547 from 303, a number of kids dropped out of
our patrol, leaving only Brady, Stephen and I.
Ever since the split from 303, 547 has been led by our Scoutmaster, Mr.
Joyce and our Committee Chairman, Dr. Shafer. Thank you to all of the
adult leaders, Mr. Rotzal, Mr. Bense, Mr. McCloskey, Mr. Loftus, and
Mr. Adams just to name a few. And special thanks to my fellow scouts
who have helped me grow, mentally and physically, and have given me
a chance to improve my leadership and my character. Thank you to Mr.
Roller for graciously accepting the role of my Eagle advisor and for
MCing my Court of Honor today. Lastly thank you to the Fire
Department of Montgomery Township, for allowing me to hold my
court of honor here today, for accepting me into your department and
for teaching me the skills I need to be a better fireman.
To my parents, I can never thank you enough for allowing me the
opportunity to be a Scout. It has drastically changed my life and made
me a better person overall. I know it wasnt easy at times, especially
when you had to keep giving those gentle reminders every once in a
while to get my Eagle Scout paperwork done. But I now understand
why those reminders were so persistent; I am who I am today because
of your teaching and guidance. Thank you for your continued support in
all that I do and for being the best parents a son could ever have. I love
you and be preparedbecause you have three more boys on their path
to eagle.
