Volume 1 issue 1 September 2, 2014 Homeroom As second period has ended and the students begin filing into the hallways to make their way to their next class, I will be standing next to my doorway in the hall to, not only monitor behavior in between classes, but to initially greet my new students as they arrive for their third period U.S. history class and to make sure that they enter my class in an appropriate manner.. As I am standing outside the doorway to my classroom, the students will not only notice me as they enter the room but they will also notice a large banner with my name on it above the door. This will help them make sure that they are attending the correct class and classroom. As the students enter the room, I will make an effort to make eye contact and pleasantly greet every student at the door with a simple statement or a question such as: Good Morning or if I already have a relationship built with the student Good morning, Michael. How was your summer? I will also use this time to briefly explain to the students that they may choose their own seats and remain seated until class begins (Overlapping).
