The Influence Of The Light To The Growth And

Development Of Tauge Plant

A. The Purpose of Research

To know the influence of light to the growth and development of tauge plant.

B. Problem Formulation

Does the intensity of light influence the growth and development of tauge
plant?
How the light influence the growth and development of tauge plant?

C. Variables

The free variable : Light

The bounded variable : The growth and development of tauge plant

D. Hypothesis
1. Intensity of light influence the growth and development of tauge plant.
2. Plant that is placed in the dark place grow and develop faster than the plant
that is placed in the bright place, but it has small-size leaves.

E. Experiment

Tools and materials :

1. Tauge seeds
2. 2 unused mineral water glasses
3. Cotton
4. Water

The work steps :

1. First, prepare the 2 glasses, put the cotton in it and make it wet with
water.
2. Put the seeds on the wet cotton in the 2 glasses.
3. Put one of them in the garden and another one put in the dark place.
4. Wait for 4 days and watch the growth and development of the tauge
plant.
5. After 4 days, compare it and write down the differences.

F. Experiment Result
1. The tauge plant that is placed in the brigth place has a shorter stem, but has a
larger leaves. Its cotiledon/endosperm still remaind. (picture 1)
2. The tauge plant that is placed in the dark placed has a longer stem, but has a
smaller leaves. Its cotiledon/endosperm almost dont have remaind. (picture 2)

G.Conclusion
1. Ligth influence the growth and development of tauge plant.
2. Tauge plant that is placed in the bright placed has a larger leaves it means
for the photosynthesis process it can take more sun ligth. And it has a
shorter stem because the ligth inhibit the work of auxine hormone, if the
ligth given is uneven it will make the stem bend.
3. Tauge plant that is placed in the dark place has a smaller leaves, because it
take not ligth enough for the photosynthesis process. And it has a longer
stem because there are no ligth that can inhibit the work of auxine hormone.
4. Tauge plant that is placed in the dark place will be alive for a while until its
cotiledon/endosperm dont remaind anymore. It will die because there are
no ligth that can help the photosynthesis process.
