By Laws A new By-Law for membership entry and legal defense need to be addressed.
Membership We have 8 new full time members of the department, Jason Becker, Jacob Caylor, Elliott
Epping, Randy Godsey, Bob Hug, Ben Reese, Kyle Schauer and Drew Verkamp .
M (Whitaker) / S (McQuerry) to amend the By-Laws to allow new hires to join the Union without a
waiting period. Discussion: Waiting period is in place to protect the Union from lawsuits from members
being terminated while on probation. It was discussed that they are brothers and sisters once
employed. All were in favor with none opposed.
Jason Becker, Jacob Caylor, Elliott Epping, Randy Godsey, Bob Hug, Ben Reese, Kyle Schauer and Drew
Verkamp were in attendance and asked to step out of the room.
M (Robinson) / S (McMullen) to accept Jason Becker, Jacob Caylor, Elliott Epping, Randy Godsey, Bob
Hug, Ben Reese, Kyle Schauer and Drew Verkamp into Local 4206. No discussion. All in favor with none
opposed. Randy Godsey and Ben Reese were previous members of the IAFF.
All eight members were welcomed back into the meeting and welcomed into the Local.
A By-Law defining our legal defense of members will be drafted.
Todd Schulkers retired and is now a retired member. We donated $200 towards his retirement
luncheon.
Randy McMullen, Jay Kelley and Regis Huth were assigned to a committee to determine a uniformed
retirement gift for the future.

Communications
Thank you from the Kremers for the fundraiser.
Old Business
Chase Autry and Scott Lewis are working on getting the vending up and running. We no longer have soft
drinks in the stations. All monies raised from the vending will go directly to the Union.
New Business
A new clothing order will be assembled. We were waiting on inducting the new members to have one
order instead of multiple. New members will be given $100 as per the By-Laws for clothing.
We can use the city email for the local.
Discussion was held about the use of the FOP Hall. It was determined that due to the parking issues and
the fact the city accepts us as a good will organization, we will continue to meet at Central Station.
We have been approached by Mayor Rouse for our endorsement for the upcoming election. We
discussed at length the pros and cons and decided that we endorse a mayoral candidate after receiving
platforms from both candidates. Regis Huth suggested he have signs made and stand in the area of
polling places with our endorsement on Election Day.
Santa Claus and the Firehouse Santa Kids Christmas Party will be planned soon for December.
Newport Bowling Fundraiser is October 25
th
, 2014. If you are interested in bowling, see Justin Brinkman.
It was discussed and decided that this event would be covered by Local funds if the bowlers are Local
4206 members. We will be deciding the future arrangements for member/shift participation in charity
events. In the past, the Local has paid for one outing per shift per year.

M (Robinson) / S (Rolf) to adjourn at 10:13 am. No discussion. All in favor with none opposed.
