Minutes of the Meeting from March 01, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:25 pm by President Bohl at Erlanger Central Station.

M (Hug) / S (Ottaway) to accept the minutes from the October 19, 2016 meeting. No
discussion. All were in favor. None opposed.
Presidents Report

Some of our members donated a total of $500 to John Muenchen (Union Fire District) and his
wife, Holly. Their daughter was stillborn. 10 2016

We sponsored a team ($185) in Newport Local 45s bowling fundraiser on October 22, 2016.

We received a donation from the VFW Auxiliary in the amount of $200 in November 8, 2016.

We sent letters to the mayor and city council members thanking them for the initial phase of
wage adjustments.

We held the Firehouse Santa event on December 11, 2016. There was a large turnout as
usual.

We donated $200 towards the refreshments for the City of Erlanger Holiday Party.

I attended the KPFF Executive Board meeting on December 14, 2016 at Covington Local 38
hall. We were congratulated by several members of different Locals for our success with our
City Council Candidates Night.

We received the second clothing order from Idlebrook with no major issues and a quick turn
around time.

I attended the First District KPFF meeting on January 31, 2017 at Covington Local 38 hall. Most
departments in our area are experiencing the same issues with pay and members leaving as we
are currently.

We sent the gift cards that members received in December 2015 from Anchor Church to the
Ostertags (Hebron Firefighters wife that has cancer), the Jernigan family (Hebron Firefighter
that lost his 17 year old daughter in a traffic collision) and former council members Bill Howard,
J D Dunhoft and Gary Meyer.

We were named in Linda Dietz mothers obituary (January 2017) for donations. We received 4
donations totaling $120. I sent thank you letters to the people that donated.

We have purchased $959 worth of smoke and CO alarms of the $1500 we received from the
Erlanger Lions Club.

If you did not receive your IAFF membership card in the mail, please let me know.

Treasurers Report

Checking Balance: $9,674.08 (minus clothing allowance $1250) = $8,424.08

Communications

We received a thank you letter from Councilman Randy Blankenship for our wage increase
thank you letter and he wanted to know how to further help adjust our salaries. This was
communicated to Chief Whitaker.

We received a thank you from former Councilman Bill Howard for our thank you letter and gift.

The department is in the process of hiring 5 new employees.

New Business

We had discussion about being a King Pin sponsor and sponsor a team in the Yellin Helen
bowling fundraiser that is on March 25, 2017 at Erlanger Super Bowl. The King Pin Sponsor is
$250 and the team sponsorship is $180 for a total of $430. A team consists of 6 members.

M (Bohl) / S (Hug) to be a King Pin Sponsor and sponsor a team. No discussion. All were in
favor. None were opposed.

July 26, 2017 is our 15 year anniversary. President Bohl is working on an anniversary
celebration. How much would we like to spend? Depends on the event
Committee? Bohl - McDonald - Hug - Ottaway
We had discussion about adding Jack Scheben as an Honorary Member for his service and
dedication to the Erlanger Fire Department.
M (Bohl) / S (Hug) to name John Jack Scheben as an Honorary Member of Erlanger
Professional Firefighters. No discussion. All were in favor. None were opposed.

In a prior meeting, our membership agreed to ordering more challenge coins. It was discussed
about having a special edition coin for the 15 year anniversary. President Bohl will look into set
up fees and report back.

We discussed sponsoring a team for the Big Brother/Big Sisters bowling fundraiser. This would
cost $500. Points were made to see if there is interest in having a 5 person team and if the
team members would split the cost (50/50) since the expense if great for a bowling event.
