Festival in Sea
Isle City
A RECORD TURNOUT Of
oarsmerVwomen

made the second annual Sports

with representatives of every
beach patrol
competing in thd
quartet

of which were niaking their for-
mal bows.
The newly named
"Murph Levy
Trophy" test, a memorial to the
late retired assistant chiefofthe
Atlantic City Beach Patrol, was a
ruggetl five-mile eontest, won by
ACBP2s Buteh Joseph and Fred
Burwell.'
The three-mile
"OId Malarkey"
rBC; honoring a retired Press
sports editor, was annexed by
'Ventnor's
Scott James and Jim
Mason.
The "Dr. John Holland" oite-
miler tributing this area's "fa-
ther of rowing," was won by an-
other Alantic CW duo of Allen
Moss and Kim Fioriglio.
The
glamour
event of the day,
however, was the mixed doubles
(each
erew eomprised ofan oars-
man and wife or
girl
friend) was
handily won by Bill and Denise
Baldwin.

The Old Malarkey
INTENSIVE PREPARATION
In deference to the offieials,
who saw fit to bestow some class
on "The Old Malarkpy" term by
designating one raee'by that term
and because the oarsmerVwomen
knocked themselves out prepar-
ing for the tholl-pin regatta, it's
only fair that we list the runners-
up in the unique post-season
af-
fair. So:
(Legend: A- Atlantic Crty, B- Brigantine, L-
longport,
M- Margate, O- Ocean City, S- Sea lsle
City, W-Wildwood).
