The instructor is responsible for the coordination plannin! preparation presentation and evaluation
of classroom instruction and related activities" The instructor is responsible for performin! assi!ned
duties durin! the da# evenin! or $ee%end on an# &efferson 'avis (ommunit# (olle!e campus as
assi!ned" )t a minimum the related activities include instruction instructional counselin! academic
advisin! servin! on various committees participatin! in local state re!ional and national
professional activities and or!ani*ations" )n instructor performs all other duties as directed b# the
'ivision (hair 'ean of +nstruction or the ,resident or desi!nee"
B. Or&ani'ational !eportin&
The instructor is directl# responsible to the 'ivision (hair in the division in $hich he/she
teaches"
C. Essential Functions()a*or !esponsibilities+
)t a minimum the essential functions of the instructor are:
to coordinate plan or!ani*e and instruct courses in the da# evenin! or on $ee%ends on
an# &efferson 'avis (ommunit# (olle!e campus as assi!ned-
to %eep active at a hi!h level of e.pertise in the sub/ects tau!ht and stimulate enthusiasm for
those sub/ects-
to ensure that each pro!ram/class contains essential curricular components has appropriate
content and peda!o!# and maintains currenc#-
to recommend te.tboo%s and other instructional materials includin! classroom and
laborator# e0uipment to 'ivision (hairs-
to assist in the colle!e1s librar# collection development b# selectin! evaluatin! and
$eedin! librar# resources in each appropriate discipline-
to teach all classes accordin! to an approved course s#llabus-
to %eep students informed and updated concernin! course content re0uirements evaluation
procedures and attendance re0uirements-
to %eep students informed about their pro!ress throu!h the prompt !radin! of papers and
other $or%-
to provide students $ith a mid2term pro!ress report-
to maintain accurate and complete scholastic records includin! attendance records-
to submit 3ailure to 4eport Earl# 5arnin! Notification of 6nofficial 5ithdra$al and
other documentation $hen appropriate-
to file an appropriate course s#llabus for each course tau!ht $ith the appropriate division
chair and the 'ean of +nstruction1s office-
to conduct class evaluations and complete other colle!e evaluations in accordance $ith
colle!e polic#-
to ensure that assi!ned classes are held as scheduled-
to hold the final e.am at the time scheduled in the colle!e1s semester schedule unless
permission to deviate has been approved b# the 'ean of +nstruction-
to ma%e su!!estions to the 'ivision (hair or the 'ean of +nstruction concernin! the
improvement of the curriculum in %eepin! $ith the ob/ectives of the colle!e-
to participate in pro!ram and curriculum revie$ and development and student learnin!
outcomes initiatives-
to ma%e use of available colle!e online resources 7home pa!e office hour postin! s#llabi

to plan each unit or lesson both as to content and method to ma%e each class minute
