Reading: Antonyms, Short u,
Our focus this week in reading was short u,
antonyms, and initial c/s and g/j sounds. We
read several fction and non-fction stories
about spiders this week. Our phonics story
for net week is !o and "ear and our
Writing: Verbs/Action Words
#fter researching spiders, we completed a
chart to tell us what spiders can, have, and
are. We also came up with verbs and
adjectives for spiders. We used fun verbs to
come up with silly spooky sentences$ We
continued to work on informational and
narrative writings.
Math: ime to the hour and ha!f hour,
"a!endar
We began our study of time this week. We will
be focusing on time to the hour and half hour.
We played partner games, used small clocks
to make times, and made a clock to practice
with at home$ We will continue with time and
Socia! Studies: #atura! Resources
%his week we discussed natural resources. We
came up with many ways we use natural
resources each day. We also compared
natural resources to man made. &et week,
we will begin learning about 'acagawea and
(ewis and )lark.
