Netcool Monitoring Tool(NETCOOL Omni Bus)


This tool is a IBM Tivoli product and advanced version of TEC.
This tool is only for monitoring the alerts & if we get any alerts/pop-ups in
netcool we have to update those through remedy/sm7(maximo) manually
and this tool is having coloring feature.
Current version is 7.0.
It provides a way to monitor the availability and performance of all the
systems in your enterprise from one or several designated workstations.
Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus can handle millions of events a day, with all events being treated with
equal importance.

You can use this Monitoring Tool to perform the following tasks:

Monitor for alerts on the systems that you are managing by using
predefined situations or custom situations.

Establish your own performance thresholds.

Gather comprehensive data about system conditions.

Use policies to perform actions, schedule work, and automate manual


tasks.

The IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Agent software can identify, notify you of, and
correct common problems with the application that it monitors. The software includes the following

tool.
It helps to increase the efficiency & speed problem resolutions.
It combines scalability with a flexible architecture to help scale from small
to large environments, with more than 100 million events per day across
multiple servers(takes more performances & shows n no.of alerts).

Netcool can supports both auto ticketing & semi-autoticketing tools.
Auto-Ticketing Tool: Here we need to login into ticketing tool & raise the
incident here. It means to reduce the human resources & increase the
performance of the alerts. It throws the alert with incident number & platform
name.
Semi-Auto Ticketing Tool: It means Half-work. Here right click on event-- >
raise the incident (sev & UID). Here UID means who raised the incident.
BAU: It means business as usual. Here time is client time.
