Founders Day for Tri Sigma is April 20th. They became a national sorority in
1898 when eight successful, collegiate women formed an everlasting
friendship and began inviting other women to join their organization. Founders
Day represents the success of this sorority, this individual chapter, and the
beautiful sisterhood currently consisting of 111,243 members. This sorority
empowers women to change the world through a perpetual bond of friendship,
character, and to impress upon them high standards of conduct. It focuses on
outstanding education, philanthropies, charity, community service, and
leadership.
These sisters are very excited to celebrate their sorority as one of the oldest
national sororities today. I am really excited about this event because it is
a celebration that happens once a year of the founding that brought us all
together says Chelsey Kaiser, a senior at Illinois State University and Founders
Day chair of Sigma Sigma Sigma Epsilon Omicron.
The event will be on April 12th and begin at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Food will be served during speeches given from the
President and other members of this chapter along with advisors and national representatives. There will be a silent
auction held to raise money for the new chapter house on campus which will open fall semester of 2014.
