Hi, Carl!

Thank you for contac9ng me about the books, I am excited to hear that the team would like to keep the
conversa9on going. The books are at Central Receiving, I will contact Carrie and ask her to send 25 copies to
EVHS to you/Jodis aXen9on. We have several copies so the Equity team can decide if they would like to keep
them or pass them on to other sta members once they are done with them. The books do not need to be
returned.

Im glad you got to spend some 9me with the AVID students, they make the case for AVID like nothing else
can. EVHS is doing a great job implemen9ng AVID!

Let me know if you need anything else, thanks!
Stacy

Good morning Stacy!

I am emailing you today as an intern at EVHS. I aXended the EVHS Equity Team mee9ng yesterday. As part of their
mee9ng, the group was discussing the work of Sharroky Hollie and the impact on prac9ce at EVHS. The Equity Team
whole hear9ly agreed that it was 9me to begin next steps. One of those next steps is to engage in a book study and
Hollies Culturally and Linguis/cally Responsive Teaching and Learning is the one they would like to get started on.

I would like to help facilitate ge^ng hold of the copies they would need. Jodi Hanson thought that 25 copies would
be needed.

Please advise on the procedure you are using to check out those books. I am happy to drive over to the D.O. and pick
the books up if that simplies having to ship them via intra-district mail.

On a side noteI just sat in on an AVID class at EVHS. It was a tutoring session where students were preparing for an

APUSH test. What a great group of kids! The energy and the discussion was something I needed to see. I cant wait
to get back to my own students next week.

Thanks for all you do. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
