The Compass Program is open to all


students in grades 8-10 who would like
to learn in a half-day program that focusses on project based learning and
integrated curriculum.

COMPASS Program Information


COMPASS is a new way to approach the Gr ade
8-10 curriculum. This half day cohort program

emphasizes inquiry, combining the use of technology and experiential learning, both in and
out of the classroom. Students enrolled in this
program will spend one-half of each school day
working with a teacher, educational assistant
and have the support of a child and youth care
worker. They will work in a project-based learning environment designed to connect core subject areas in a meaningful way.
Compass students will also ge t an opportunity
to connect their learning out of the school environment by participating in work experience,
community volunteer activities and outdoor
education.

Grades 8/9:
The following courses are offered
through the COMPASS program.
English/Social Studies
Math/Science
(students will choose electives and
have other required courses in the second half of the day)
