War Story

The Soldiers pour out onto the field. The wind was strong and batted the soldiers eyes, as
they throttled their weapons and scattered, occupying the field. Spread out! The team leader
shouted, Survey the territory! The boat which the army had used to dock had now reached
the D-Day Shore.
Enemy fire from an unseen distance had begun whirring through the air. This took the
troops by surprise, but did not weaken their resolve. It was time to fire back. Most of the
troops were armed with grenades, handguns, and machine guns. The air was now littered
with a barrage of bullets flesh and blood , and moments later, return-fire. Take Cover, the
Troop leader yelled, after adjusting his helmet and firing back at the Occupying Axis. Troop
Leader was hiding behind an abandoned tank, hunched down as he looked up and saw
bullets flying past his head. What'll we do! he shouted. This is terrifying, he shouted out to
the troop defending his position. You're right! The assistant troop shouted back. Explosions
began hitting the ground, but at first did not kill or injure anyone, but instead merely
obliterated abandoned tanks and the muddy ground. An Axis soldier ran out by surprise,
terrifying an unsuspecting Troop Leader, but was shot down and killed by the two soldiers
in hiding, collapsing to the ground as a fresh hole filled corpse in a puddle of blood, as both
the Troop Leader and his guard ran to the next tank when firing from the fog ceased. The
ground was muddy, and the battle field air was filled with the smell of shrapnel grenade
leavings, tank oil, tires, and metal. And mud.
