A region is an area of land defined by shared cultural, climatic, and agricultural characteristics. Geographers determine regions based on differences such as the colder climate and historical resources of the Northeast region compared to the warmer climate, cultural diversity, and soybean farming of the Southwest region. Geographers analyze differences and similarities between areas to define distinct regions.

A region (in my words) is land separated by their culture,
climate, and agriculture. For example, Northeast is colder; they have a lot of history with our countrys beginnings (pilgrims and settlers), and different resources. Meanwhile, Southwest is warmer, they have lots of different cultures (Native Americans, etc.) and they farm soybeans. This is how geographers determine regions; by their differences and similarities.
