Watson & Odyssey Scholars Program

Odyssey
Scholars
Program

The mission of the Elon Academy is to inspire


academically promising students who are often
underrepresented on college and university
campuses to pursue higher education, build
leadership skills, and develop an active sense of
social responsibility. We believe that with the proper
support every student who aspires to go to college
can accomplish that goal.
Four-phase program to partner with our scholars,
our families, and our community to build trusting
relationships over an extended period of time.
Phase I: College Access Program
Phase II: Transitions to College Program
Phase III: College Success Program
Phase IV: Alumni Program

program are accepted at colleges and universities.

Merit-based aid awarded to EA scholars (this does not include
state or federal aid):
Alpha scholars earned approx. $600,000
Beta scholars earned approx. $700,000
Gamma scholars earned approx. $800,000
Delta scholars earned approx. $700,000
Four scholars were awarded the prestigious GatesMillennium Scholarship.

91% of Alphas are on track (current seniors)

National Statistics for Low-Income Students:
70% graduate from high school

4% of low-income, African-American males graduate from

These numbers are phenomenal given Elon Academy
demographics. EA is particularly proud of their success
with African-American male students -- 100% are on track
to graduate.
