While you may know that the program offers state financial incentives for renovating or rehabilitating historic buildings, you may not realize that the Maryland General Assembly this year expanded it to help owners of small businesses in designated Sustainable Communities, such as Takoma Park, repair and improve their historic structures. Maryland Department of Planning staff is working to inform Marylanders, particularly small business owners, about the expansion of the tax credit and how to apply. County-level tax credits also are available. Join state and county historic preservation staff as they explain how you can receive credits for your rehabilitation projects at a workshop sponsored by Historic Takoma. Owners of residential properties also will gain valuable information about how to apply for tax credits.
