Minority Enrollment Increases 8.7% Diversifying UM Campus

Minority enrollment at the University of Maryland has risen 8.7 percent this fall
according to student-reported data.
The increase in minority students is a gratifying sight for the many students, faculty and
administrators who have worked for it, said university President Dr. Wallace Loh. We still
have more to do. This is only the beginning,
The university has increased minority population 23 percent in the past five years despite
the overall population growing only 1 percent.
